EXTENDING A WARM WELCOME TO ALL!  
 

In Finland there are proportionately more members in cooperatives than in any other country in the world. The memebership of cooperative enterprises in Finland amounts to well over 5,4 million (the population of Finland is 5,2 million inhabitants). The joint turnover of cooperative business reached over 27 000 euros in the year 2002. Some new facts in films (.ppt) about Pellervo Confederation and cooperatives in Finland.

Today Pellervo integrates about 390 member cooperatives. Most Pellervo´s member business are market leaders in their respective fields. Pellervo includes both consumer and producer members and the association representing the increasing numbers of new cooperatives.

Pellervo itself is a member of ICA and Cogeca. November 2003  the  extensive Cogeca Conference was organised in Helsinki. The theme of the conference was  European Agricultural Co-operatives and the Competition Law and Policy in Europe.

Pellervo operates as:

     -      A service organisation for Finnish cooperatives
     -      A forum for cooperative activities
     -      An organisation of expertise for the cooperative activities
     -      An organisation dedicated to development
     -      A national and international actor and promotor of member´s interests.
